This is my first attempt at creating a post-apocalyptic photo manipulation. I am not completely happy with it as I was finding it difficult to colour match all the different images used to create the composite, so it’s a lot darker than I planned so I can hide some of the issues I was having. The other issue I have is that I don’t have enough images of buildings and urban environment s to build my composites, so I need to plan a visit to Bristol, Bath and maybe London.

This is the last set of images from my urban exploration. Not sure if I will be going back as it seems the site is being cleared for development. Enjoy.

Here’s a quick before and after. The image was taken at a derelict building last month.

The first thing I did was to remove the graffiti in Photoshop, then apply Pool Party by Totally Rad, add a texture (sorry can’t remember where I got the texture from) @ color Burn 75% and then Tonal Contrast and Cross Processing actions from Nik Software. Hope this info helps.

We found this derelict site at the beginning of the year and have now visited it 3 times. It’s surprising how much it changes between visits. The winter months are not good for a building with its roof tiles removed, window broken and doors open.
